Making localhost externally accessible

Making localhost externally accessible with ngrok

Overview

Sometimes you need to show the changes you do locally before deploying them to server. To do this, you need to make the localhost externally accessible. Fortunately, there is a great tool for this: ngrok

Configuration

  • Unzip the downloaded folder
  • Run ngrok (from inside unzipped folder):
./ngrok http 8080

This will create an externally accessible URL for your local one http://localhost:8080:

Enjoy 😏
